Why create this service if a lot of sites provide information about domestic Mobile Providers and International SIMs, and Google contains a lot of links to different sites with info about SIMs?

Well, I started thinking about this service year ago. It was a big problem for me to travel and keep ability to call home outside of my country. Too high fees for calls, unable to use internet, troubles to call local numbers (because of requirement of International Code usage), unable to use A–GPS. So, I decided to use International SIM first, but it did not solved problem because I not need static phone number, but need other services. I was in Finland at that time and decided to buy a local SIM and try it before I will buy International one.

First problem I met was — I don’t know what to buy? And even more. Which provider is good for me? Which contract or prepaid tarif available to non-resident? Where to buy SIM and how to add more credits to account?

Walking, talking and walking again. Soon I got all basic info and bought my first SIM card in Finland. It was with enabled Mobile Internet option, ability to call outside of Finland and with support on my native language. When I returned to home and compare how much I spent with theoretical “how much I spent with my home SIM” I was surprised. I spend about €5 (about $7.5), instead of €43 (about $64). I was doubt before about a service, but after this I realized that not only me may feel troubles with local SIMs and then I decided to start this site.

It’s just a beginning. I will post updates as soon I will get new information about SIMs. This time I will post it as blog items, later I will add a database and search and other controls to move forward this site to real service.

I know that it’s not possible to support and collect all this information alone, so I asking for your help. If you want you can help me collect and post this information here. This project supported only by me and I cannot guarantee compensation for help except posting names of volunteers.
